"Emily of New Moon" was an television series adaption of
L.M. Montgomery's Emily trilogy co-produced
by Salter Street Films and CINAR Films. The televsion series aired
on CBC in 1998-2000 in Canada and also on
WAM in the U.S.A. Fully filmed on Prince Edward Island, the show starred
PEI native Martha MacIsaac as Emily Bryd Starr. Sheila McCarthy played
Aunt Laura (and was awarded with a Gemini Award for her performance)
and Susan Clark was Aunt Elizabeth. The
often dark and mysterious series was acclaimed for the Island scenery
and fine performances.
