Hi Valancy,
This is so funny. I typed my name into search on yahoo and
found this website. I've read The Blue Castle a few times, as
I'm an L.M. Montgomery fan myself. A friend showed me that
book in high school because the main character had my name. I
had never before heard of anyone else having it. Once I found
the name Valancy as the middle name of a 19th century poetess
named Isabella. Otherwise, I thought I was the only one.
Anyway, my mom said she chose my name when she was in high
school because she watched a movie whose main character was
named Valancy, and ever after wanted to name her first
daughter that. But, she didn't remember the name of the movie,
and no one else has ever heard of it. Can you tell me if The
Blue Castle has ever been made into a film? I'm curious if
this is where she got it.
By the way, everyone always tells me I have such a beautiful
name, but nobody can ever remember how to spell or pronounce
it. Kind of funny...(It's VAL-an-cee, not Va-LAN-cy).
Anyway, great site. Could you email an answer to my question?

I have been an LMMontgomery fan since I was eight. My stepmom
made me read the first Anne book ... I actually never finished
the Anne series because I liked the Pat and Emily storied
better. Anyway, great site! |

On my last visit home
with my father before his death in 1999 he told me that
L. M. Montgomery was my great-great aunt; therefore, I
am trying to find out everything that I can about her. I
have always felt a "kindred spirit" to anything
Victorian and a simpler way of life, so truly feel

and this site is absolutely awesome!!
Help!! I'm a
18 years old German girl and I have to do a book
presentation for my English class. I've chosen "Anne of
Green Gables" as it is my absolute favourite book. I
have to write about characters, the story, the author
and an own evaluation.
Now I'm looking for a special
English quote out of the book "Emily Quests" which I
only have in German. There's one part in which Emily
says that she read a book without a happy end at that
evening. She was so sorry about it that she thought out
a happy end. She says that's the way how stories should
end. I need this quote in proper Montgomery English. If
there's anyone who could mail it to me, I would be very
grateful.

I really love this
