I am a massive "Maud" fan. I first read the Anne books when I was nine and I have been truly addicted since then. Anne has been read by me at least twenty two times and I consistently read it yearly, along with Blue Castle and usually the Emily books as well. I found your site very helpful and true to the Anne motive. I am glad there are other kindred spirits out there that can truly show their souls...

Hi, I found your site after googling for the 1940 film Anne of Windy Poplars which was on television yesterday afternoon and came up with your resource page.

You have a lovely webpage for LMM and I have enjoyed my visit. It's many years since I first read the Anne books and started carrying this character in my heart.

With best wishes.

Happy Birthday to LM Montgomery today [30th November]. I have just finished reading "Maud: The Early Years of LM Montgomery" by Harry Bruce [Nimbus, 2003].
I strongly recommend this perceptive, if rather heart-wrenching, account of her early days of loneliness & her long struggles to become an author.

I just love visiting your site since it is such a goldmine of information about LMM, Anne, and then some. I was wondering what Anne's favorite mayflowers look like. Could you post a picture? Also, I was wondering if you would ever put up any info concerning the differences between Anne of Windy Poplars and Anne of Windy Willows. Anyway, love your site!

I've loved Anne of Green Gables since I was 8 and stumbled upon an adapted version in my classroom. Now I am 16 and a huge fan. I collect editions of the first book. I hope to visit Prince Edward Island someday. Glad that there are many other Anne fans like myself!

Hi, can you tell me where I can find audiobooks of all the Anne books? I have found and bought a few, but cannot locate two of them. I am curious if there were all recorded unabridged or if those two were left out? Please let me know what you can or where I could find them. Thanks again, Sue

My favourite book by L.M. Montgomery is Anne series. I read it first time when I was 9-10 years old.I couldn't stand that Anne grew up. I wanted to be her a child forever. But later I got used to it;))
Anyway, thanks for this website.

I am from China and I love Anne so much. Anne of green gables novels are my farvorite novels. Ten years ago, I watched the cartoon, Akage no An. I liked the cartoon and Anne but I didn't love them until I have read the novel. I always dream to live in a house surrounded by hills, trees, flowers and river, etc. Beside, I also admire the western life in 19 and the early 20 century so much. So, I was fascinated by Anne of green gables immediately when I first read it. Also, I think Anne is so interesting and lovable that I can't stop reading all the novels of Anne.
By the way, this site is really great. There are so much useful information and it also helps me to know more about L.M. Montgomery. Thanks.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

To answer a few questions:
Aparna, I answered by email, but I'll answer in here if anyone else is curious about your questions. Yes, I had a gallery in the past, but I deleted it a few years ago. Marigold does have a section on my webpage. She's located under the "Heroines and Books" section with some other material that did not fit on the main index page.

Emily, "Anne of Windy Poplars" and "Anne of Windy Willows" are the same book. I've read that small portions are missing from Poplars though. The book is published under different names in different countries.

This site is a really good resource...I like it alot and often browse through it, though I do disagree with some of your perceptions of the books.
Didn't you have a gallery before you moved the site and changed it? Or is that just my weird memory? I always like galleries.
Also, I just realised something important! In your list of heroines and books, you don't mention 'Magic for Marigold', and the heroine of that book, Marigold Lesley! Maybe you just forgot, or perhaps you haven't read it...but, anyway, that's something I noticed.
All in all, though, good work and keep it up the hard work and dedication that you have obviously put into this site.

Congratulations on this site!

You've succeeded in putting together the most informative and entertaining webpage on L.M. Montgomery, one of the literary giants in my life. Thank you very much for that.

On another note, I hope that the e-text to The Road to Yesterday can be posted soon.

More power to you! :)

Hi Fiona,
I have received this question many times, and I still have not found a place that the miniseries is available. I will update this site with the information should if become available. For now, you can send feedback to the BBC (http://feedback.m23.com/bbcamericashop/) and request the miniseries be released. I know a number of people have done this, and maybe if there is enough interest, it will be released in the future.

I think Kim Braden was the definitive Anne. Have you found any source of recording of the 1972 or 1975 BBC TV serials? I would love to find them.
