During her lifetime, L. M. Montgomery published
over 500 short stories. Two books, collecting some of her stories were published
during her lifetime, and many others have been collected and published thematically,
posthumously. These collections of stories are listed below. I've also rediscovered
a couple short stories, which you can read below that are exclusive to
this website.
In a number of cases, Montgomery re-shaped her stories
for republication. One example is the story "The Courting of Prissy Strong." I've
made a critical
comparison of the 1909 and 1912 story versions to examine Montgomery's
editing process.
