Baskin-Robbins Daiquiri Ice is Happiness
Baskin-Robbins Daiquiri Ice is my favorite ice cream flavor and has been since I was a kid. For the past few years, I hadn't been able to find it, try as I might. I was told it was seasonal, and then heard it was discontinued, which left me somewhat distraught.
A couple weeks ago, I sent an email to Baskin-Robbins to request that they bring the flavor back. I learned from their website that "The favorite Baskin-Robbins® flavor of Bing Crosby and Justin Timberlake was, and is, Daiquiri Ice." The statement made me sad because at the time, Daiquiri Ice wasn't, to my knowledge, available anywhere.
Tonight I was craving ice cream, and my husband and I walked over to Baskin-Robbins. Imagine my surprise when I saw a vat of my favorite, light blue-flavored treat! Daiquiri Ice was back! It's listed as a flavor of the month, and luckily I stopped by at the start of the month and not the end, so I can spend all of May enjoying (and stocking up on pints) of my favorite flavor. This gives me hope that Daiquiri Ice might maybe be back for good one day. Hooray!
Here's a photo of my partially devoured, two-scoop Daiquiri Ice sundae with strawberry topping and whipped cream, buts and (lucky me) two cherries!

Oreos Cookies
I've run out of my supply of Canadian Oreos. Here's a photo of my last cookie before I ate it. I wish American Oreos by Nabisco tasted as good, but the icing in the middle does not taste as delicious to me as the Canadian Oreo filling made by Mr. Christie's/Kraft Canada.

Lemon Ice
Even though it's cold outside, I was craving a cold treat, so I made some lemon ice.
Last night, I boiled lemon rind, water, and sugar. Here's a photo of the stirring!

Here's the finished product. It's delicious!

Chocolate Taste Test
Last night/this morning, we had a night of chocolate taste-testing, maybe better described as me forcing friends and relatives to eat strangely flavored chocolates that we found at World Market. The chocolates included: 1) coconut curry and 2) chai tea by Theo chocolates (3400 Phinney Bars), 3) World Market's chipotle chili dark chocolate, and 4) Mo's Bacon Bar by Vosges Haut Chocolate.

Theo's Chocolates met with good and enthusiastic reviews. Not only did I love the flavors of the chocolates, but I thought the artwork on the wrappers was beautiful. Check out KittenChops for more of the artist's work. World Market's chipotle chile chocolate met with great reviews overall and was the first bar finished. Mo's Bacon Bar had mixed reviews with some loving it, some hating it, some refusing to eat it, and some being neutral (like me). I guess that's proof that chocolate doesn't make everything taste better, and likewise, bacon doesn't make everything taste better either.

Boston is to ice cream as Seattle is to coffee
I read yesterday that Boston is to ice cream as Seattle is to coffee, which only made me want to eat more ice cream. I had some ginger ice cream here at Lizzy's after we had dinner at Wagamama.

On berries and chicken
I haven't seen ash tree berries in years. They're just so pretty.

The chicken I cooked for dinner looked very photogenic.

Birthday Dinner
I made gnocchi for my husband's birthday dinner using this great recipe at 101 Cookbooks: How to Make Gnocchi like an Italian Grandmother Recipe

By this point, I was very tired of forming gnocchis, but dinner was delicious. Fresh pesto. yum!

Roses are so pretty. :)

I made heart-shaped chewy, ginger spice cookies last week using this recipe.

I made blueberry muffins tonight using this recipe, and they are really really yummy.
